Of the approved oils, our recommendation is for Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40. It carries an API SL rating and has more anti-wear additives and improved HTHS film strength than M1.
Just had my oil changed today and I wanted to stay with an approved oil so I went with Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40 instead of the Mobil 1 0w40 that I previously used (4500 miles on old oil). During my initial drive with the new oil, there is a noticeable difference in how the car drives between Mobil 1 and Motul. Might just be my perception but it feels smoother, quieter, and seems to accelerate a little better.
