Is there a good 911 (996/997) forum like ours?

I'm not sure if it's appropriate to ask about other forums (please delete this thread if that's the case).

Is there a similar forum for 911s?

I'm interested in purchasing a later year 996 Turbo or an early year 997 non-turbo.

I have found 986forum to be the best car forum that I belong to (and I am a member of a few) with a wide range members ranging from tech-heads to just happy owners. I'm looking for a place to research my purchase that has this wide range of opinion.

When I bought my Boxster, it was pretty much on a whim (with a little help from our forum). This time, I'd be doing some more serious research.

Yeah, they all will do... renntech is the most techincal, 6 speed is the most showoff. None are easy going like this place.

Also look at http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/index.php

RennTech is much more purely tech related, but a very good place to go for info. While it covers all Porsches, it is mostly 9x6/9x7 related.

And no, it isn't as "easy going" as this place. But worth the time!

I go to Pelican, and Rennlist as well. Both are fine sites, as is this one. *Warning* there are some suprisingly anti-Boxster posters on these sites. Ignore those, as most members are tech savy Porsche lovers too.

This anti boxster thing is so annoying. I am not a huge fan of the 911 but appreciate its attraction. Wouldn't think of dumping on someone's love of the model.

Hey, life is short, no time for that nonsense.

I love all things 911, and have for the last 30 years I've owned the various models (Carreras, RS America and turbos). With that said, my Boxster S is an absolute joy to drive and I am constantly defending the car to the 911 purists.

They snicker until I take them around the track a few laps; it will run circles around most 911s these days...even on street tires. My friend runs against my track prepared '73 2.4 911 in his Box S with R spec tires...we run about identical lap times and I guarantee he's not working as hard as I am.

Oh, almost forgot...+1 on Renntech and Pelican, though I really appreciate this forum.
