The S2 are great track cars. They are well balanced and unlike the turbo it has no lag. Both cars are almost equal on paper. 208 vs 201 hp. Torque favors the S2 and weight is almost identical. I say drivers race.

I have driven both. I think it would be a good race. It is easier to hang the tail out in the 944 so it might be a little quicker in tight transitions. The Boxster is pretty amazing in big sweepers and braking zones. A good race.

Forum member SBD used to run a well prepared 968. I think he is a lot faster in a 2001 base Boxster.

Both are excellent track candidates, and as mentioned, fairly equal. From my experience, I'd give the Box the edge.

Great cars to learn how to drive in; enough power to have fun, but you must learn to carry momentum in the turns if you ever want to go fast.
