Unhappy HELP-My baby turns off when it reaches 185F

Hello everybody...
I have a problem with my 2000 986. He starts fine and then when he gets to 185F in the temperature gauge he the engine shuts off. I replaced the ignition switch cause thats what a lot of people told me it could be but it didnt do anything. Now Im wondering... Is it possible that the problem could come from the CAMSHAFT OR CRANKSAHFT POSITION SENSORS ?

Does it make sense ? Has anybody experienced this before ?

He will shut down and I cannot get it to start until hes fully cooled down. The engine cranks but he doesnt turn on.

HELP PLEASE....

Sounds to me like a temp sensor. If the CPU thinks that the car is overheating, it may shut it down to protect the engine. A call to a mechanic can verify.

Good luck and tell us how this turns out.

I think the problem is that you call it "he" when everybody knows that cars are "she". And you know, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
