Just bought a 2001 Boxster S for $27.5K...
Black/black, 6 speed, 26K miles....perfect! It is my first Porsche brand purchase. In the past, I have owned a 99 Miata and a 2000 Merc SLK230.....can't wait until Spring!!

Nice whip you have there. Take care if it and it will take car of you. Do you plan on doing anything to it?

Sweet car. I am sure you will enjoy it! Mine was one of the best purchases I have ever made. It is my nearly everyday ride and I love every minute I am in it - even the rush hour commute. I will say that prices HAVE come down. Last march I paid 31K for my 2000 S with 27k miles.

Mine had one week of warranty left, but the dealer gave me an additional 30 days. Other than an oblivious lady in a pickup backing into me (new hood and front bumper), I have not had even one hint of a problem with the car.

Did she come with PSM? It makes all the difference in snow.
I guess I shouldn't encourage you to get her all road grimed, she looks so good now in her shiny black dress .

I paid 30,500 for my 2000 S with 10,000 miles. But state tax and all those BS fees were another $1500. But the car really was show room new. just a three inch scratch on left side of the nose. Mine came with the steped up sound package, wind deflector, the owner had stone guard applied to the front of the car and most importantly (for me) a stick shift.
I think for resale value, the S is the way to go if you can swing it.
But a 2.7L 6 cylinder Boxer engine is nothing to sneeze at either.
By the way, Have you owned a black car before?
My advice if you haven't: don't touch the paint with auto store towels. Get the expensive one's that the professionals use. If you have ever been to an auto show I gurantee you those car's have never been touched with anything other than an expensive waffle weave towel.
That means don't let the car wash guys dry your car with their drying towels, give them your towels. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/mf-201.html
Black cars are washed probably washed 2 or 3X's more often of course the more you touch the paint the more you swirl and scratch it. Click on my //http you can see my black miata that was prepared (frequently) with Klasse and P21S.

I have an Audi that I drive in the winter....so will NOT be driving my Boxster when it snows. I don't know if it has PSM, how can I tell?
My Audi is black, and I have owned other black cars in the past, so I know what a pain they are to keep clean, but it is definately worth it. I have always used Zaino brother products, with 100% cotton towels from JC Penny.
Do people here recommend a different product for the Boxster?

Klasse all in one and then Sealant.
Great stuff for the Black Box.

Forgot this, clay bar is a must if there the surface is not mirror smooth. Then proceed with Klasse.

the cotton towels I would not recommend, look at this micro magnification of a panel of black paint:
the side on the right was done with 100% terry cloth towels
the side on the left was done with Korean Microfiber towels. The Chinese made towels aren't really made in the authentic microfiber machines, actually they aren't mf at at all.
