Hater galore in VA Beach

My wife and I decided to take the boxster to VA beach for a quick half-week vacation at the Double Tree Hotel. Our last night there we come to find some F#$%face keyed our car to the primer. The culprit was lucky I didn't catch him as I was carrying my CCW. We filed a claim with the hotel with minimal resistance but the likelyhood of them taking any liability is slim to none. We did ******************** that the lighting was insufficient near the rear of the parking lot. I still consider myself lucky my wife and I are unharmed and also the relatively new soft-top was untouched. I still have fuming thoughts of vindication just looking at the pictures of the scene. Vent over.

Wow, that sucks big time!!! Hard to avoid though under the circumstances. I doubt the hotel will do anything... You might want to look into a low deductible on your comprehensive insurance. It may be cheaper than what you expect. After doing some major body work to my car I dropped my deductible to ZERO and it only cost me about $70 more per year. That gives me some peace of mind that if I do have trouble (and I do take my car to Walmart and grocery stores) it won't really cost me anything to fix.

Thanks for the insurance advice. I actually wrote my own policy with Nationwide. It's true a zero deductible will be less out of your pocket but with numerous claims your claims experience stacks up and your rate will hit the roof even though they were minor claims with comp loss of <$1000. I've been an agent for 10 years and I deal with this all day long.

That happened to me senior year in HS, my Fiat 124 spyder, they scratched every panel. It had just been painted, a job my dad arranged in exchange for engine work he did on a paint shop car on my behalf. Nothing sucks more, I'm very sorry that happened to you.

Woah! That really sucks. I'm a little hesitant to park my Boxster outside my school now, high school kids can be a violent bunch...

How much is touch up paint in that color? Hope you can get it fixed.

If someone did this to my car I would have my bodyguards beat the crap out of him.

I would then have him arrested and the police would beat the crap out of him again.

After he was released I would send someone up to his house to beat the crap out of him again.

The police would then make him pay for the damages. Once I got my money I would have someone go beat the crap out of him again so he does not do it to anyone else.

People do not key cars where I live because they know what will happen. He would be lucky only have the crap beat out of him 4 times.

Losers damage other people's property because they are losers. No other reason. These are people who wish to tear down what they cannot achieve.

You know I was always told to avoid VA Beach this time of year as out of school "kids" (the kind who weren't in school to begin with) are out increasing the crime rate.

I live in a gated community so I don't have an issue with parking it outside over night. But anywhere else its a no go 100%.

p.s.
nice color softop, post more pics.

Jeez, that really, really, sucks. Only good thing about it is that it can be repaired.

Are there any alarm systems that trigger when the car is contacted? Or maybe you could get one like the guy in South Africa had, which had an integrated flamethrower.

Damn That sucks man. Why cant some people stay home when they're angry at the world like the person that keyed your Boxster.

On the upside, you get to go home with that good-looker thats in the reflection of the car beside you.

that really sucks especially on such a great color!

A good shop will be able to blend it for you so you'll hardly notice but I feel your pain.

On a side not, I see you have a matching AR convertible top. Any pictures showing the full thing? It looks pretty slick from the one photo but would love to see a full shot.

Good luck and push the D/T to compensate. Yeah, even though they have lots of waivers/releases saying you park there under your own responsibility, if you're a preferred member, I'm sure they'll make some type of gesture to compensate you a little.
