I had something similar happen to me, but with a much crappier vehicle. A tree fell on my Volvo 740 turbo during a particularly bad thunderstorm. I called the insurance company to send someone out to assess the damage – assumed it was totaled. They brought a crane type thing to pull the tree off. Once the tree was clear, we noted almost no damage to the vehicle – some mild scratches and sap that was tough to get off, but other than that, the car was fine. I am not sure why I never bought another Volvo.
