Help - Car won't start

Hi Guys

Jumped in my car this morning and the engine wouldn't start. A message on the computer asked me to put the car in Neutral or Park (It is a triptronic.)

Obviously it was already in P, but I moved it to N, and no luck. I tried a few times in both N and P, and the message stayed on.

Has anyone come across this problem before?

Is there an easy solution, or am I going to have to get it towed to a garage?

Obviously I would like to avoid this if possible.

The car is a MY 55, 987 boxster S triptronic.

Many Thanks

J
