Never driven one, but I would expect handling to still be excellent even though its no boxster. That M would totally kill a box in a straight line too. The only issue I see w/ the car is that IMO its a tad ugly. If prices were equal, I would take an M roadster over a boxster

Also, you'll be giving up on gas mileage. I can't comment well on expected maintenance costs, but my dad's 330 has had a bunch of small things but no major issues. It is no lexus and I would expect M models cost a lot more than regular BMWs to keep up.
