^ are you saying your an illegal alien?
ToolPants wins this thread! :D |
Thank you all. Thank you. Thank you.
When I saw all the great pictures of stuff in the trunk I knew it would be tough competition, and the usual frog in the trunk picture would not cut it. |
Tool Pants
Your frog picture was taken in Japan , wasnt it ?
|
Observant. Yes it was. Found it on one of the Japanese Boxster sites years ago. Don't know what was the deal with a frog hat.
|
As you can see in the picture below, I had a Porsche in my front trunk.
|
Tool Pants
I lived in Japan for 12 years so I recognize the scenery oh so well. BTW i would think a boxster in Japan would be waste. Due to their traffic congestion and lack of drivable land.

Sweet pic Tool Pants, it is good to know a keg will fit up front. Since kegs are illegal in UT (sigh) you have to smuggle them over the border from places like Evanston, WY. Bored state troopers will pull over trucks they feel might have one and you are screwed. I don't know the severity of the charge but who needs that aggravation.
|
I thought this was a joke, but after a quick google search.
As of 1990 it is illegal to sell kegs to private people. Something about stopping student keg parties. Cannot possess containers of beer larger than 2 liters. Cannot sell ice where beer is sold. So I will not be moving to Utah anytime soon. But is it still ok to have 3 wives with your warm beer? |
It's more than ok to have 3 wives... hell that is actually the state minimum. Just don't pick up and move your compound to Texas, the Marshalls there frown upon that sort of thing, just watch CNN :D
I actually learned of the keg thing while watching the local news, and I swear I saw the driver getting arrested, no simple ticket or anything. You need a separate forum to explain all the liquor laws in UT; I learn a new one every time I go out. Other than that it is a sweet place to live, especially if you like the outdoors and enjoy driving the Boxster year round. I moved here from NY and only gave myself about 2 years here, it is 4 years now and counting.... |
This Evanston thing is also true. http://media.www.dailyutahchronicle.com/media/storage/paper244/news/2007/10/31/News/Alcohol.And.The.U.Rolling.Out.The.Kegs-3067587.shtml
You can make a lot of money with your Boxster. No trooper would suspect a Boxster of sumuggling kegs accross state lines. Not even illegal aliens. With all the money you can buy a turbo.... |

Funny funny, Shouldn't that be taken in France? :D |

Nothing in the passenger compartment. Where did you put the mirror?
Has nothing to do with with the trunks, but surf's up. |

Thats OUTSTANDING!! The largest thing I've put in my Box is my 6'4" 215lb frame lol. Fits quite nicely I must say.

I found a few interesting photos and thought that I would add to the thread. My personal best is a 20 gallon rubbermaid trash can. I also found a picture of me in the trunk of a Miata, not so roomy.

Wow, I never would have a pictured a grown man fitting in the trunk of a Miata. Did you have trouble getting out? The garbage can is funny. I wouldn't have pictured that fitting either.

That's right, two little bags in the trunks. ;) |
I was actually being useful, I was tightening the nuts on the upper shock mount. The trunk would have closed but it would have pressed on my shoulders and probably not opened again so we didn't try. I am only buying groceries for one so I rarely surpass $50 in one shot, so no competition from me on that one.
|
I only buy groceries for one and I just about died last time I went to the store and it was $200. But I was out of everything since I had thrown everything out after evacuating for the last hurricane and then failed to replace it for quite some time depleting my supply of soup, etc.
|
How funny. I was just thinking about this thread yesterday when I was stuffing $175.00 worth of groceries in the front boot. My fave postings are a toss up between the IKEA overload and the keg. What a fun thread.

bump...........................

FYI, a 24" iMac (in it's box) will not fit in either trunks on a 986. Passenger got to wear it on his lap.

By luck, Coming back from California to Ohio, I found out a family cooler from Walmart fits perfectly in the Frunk. The ice actually lasted a whole day of driving in 90 degree weather.
Family cooler from walmart $15 12 pk of Killians (bottles) $17 The look on my buddies face when I pop my "Frunk" and hand him a cold one... Priceless!!! |
I just got back from a four day trip to the mountains. In the rear trunk: Full set of golf clubs and bag, several golf shoes, 2 bottles of wine and vodka and some hats and golf crapola. Not sure what else. In the front: luggage for two, two laptops and related computer crapola, painting supplies [tubes of paint, brushes, clean up stuff, canvases, palettes, etc.], four pair of shoes for who knows what occassion - more than was needed for four days. Behind the seats: two more clubs, jacket, purse, umbrella, hats. Plus GPS, road snacks and other travelmainia supplies. It was remarkable. Sorry no pics. I also got in some solo time on the roads. That was even more remarkable. What an excellent automobile. Stunning views, stunning performance.

My old surf mobile on Maui. Surprisingly alot of trunk space in these also. This was also my construction work vehicle with lots of tools in both trunks. My cooler fit nicely in the front trunk also. And I didn't have to worry about scratching the delicate paintwork! |
this thread needs a bump

What ever happened to LoveBunny? She has not posted here in 2 years. Did you guys scare her off!
