I would say I have too much junk in my trunk really, but us women are often our own worst critic.

Good come back LoveBunny. :D

My wife already said that she must drive home to pick up her car. It was not even hard to fit these all. No groceries inside, all in the trunks.

LoveBunny 04-28-2008 07:25 PM

That's amazing, LowFlyR!

I'm thinking how funny it is that so many people are standing in parking lots taking pictures of their groceries.

dcporsche99 04-28-2008 08:06 PM

LOL! Funny pics and conversations all around! You folks crack me up! :D

pteam 04-28-2008 09:18 PM

Take out your spare tire and your probably getting about 25% more room in the front trunk. :)

kabel 04-29-2008 12:07 PM

LowFlyR, the only thing I would not recommend, is putting any refrigerated items in the trunk. Unless of course you distance from the store to the refrigerator is under 5 minutes away :)

If I met a nice, compatibile man that would do all the car repairs, house repairs and outside maintenance, and I didn't have to go to work 40 hours or more a week, I would be ELATED to do laundry and shopping and whatever. I already like to cook. I get overwhelmed by all those responsibilities I call 'guy stuff'.

To get back on topic, sorta, I do not like grocery shopping, and I DO think y'all are a lot of fun, taking all those pics. Hilarious.

Almost the same for us except
We raised 4 kids.
I sometimes shop as an excuse to take a ride.
We have been enjoying life and marriage for 40 years. (next week)

I like to work, but I still wouldn't mind having a guy go grocery shop for me. I could comprimise though if he was super special. However, I keep getting hit on by toothless nutcases so I'm pretty far from marriage.

That's great that so many of you all have been married so long. I can't even stay with someone for a few months let alone a few years. Maybe one day.

gmboxster 04-29-2008 05:04 PM

I absolutely hate grocery shopping ( actually shopping of any kind ), but when you are single you do what you have to do. Therefore I do it all. The most important thing I look for in a woman is her personality and sense of humor. If she doesn't have those then I would be just wasting my time. I don't care about all the other stuff like cooking and cleaning cause I do that now myself. And BTW if I could find a woman that would ride in the trunk, well what more could you ask for ? Seriously nice picture.

LoveBunny 04-29-2008 06:11 PM

Not groceries, but I took a picture today of how my rolling back with all my junk in it fits in my trunk, so yes, I have junk in my trunk! Ha!

(And I seriously need to go to the store. I am down to one bottle of water.)

I do the grocery shopping, laundry, clean the toilets, interior and exterior maintenance etc. My SO loves to cook and does so when she can - I cook the rest of the time. On the other hand I am a struggling glass artist, so guess who pays the bills...

I don't have any pics of groceries in the Boxster because as someone else said earlier, my Boxster and grocery store parking lots are totally incompatible. I get ridiculed by the family on a daily basis for parking the Acura "out in the boonies", but walking is good for you, and you get to walk past all the cars with dings and dents on your way in and out. :D

On a side note: I wonder if there is a "Groceries in Your Trunk" thread in some Pontiac Solstice/ Saturn Sky forum somewhere. Oh wait - they don't have trunks!

This post got me thinking. Domino's pizza should start using Boxsters for deliveries. No need to cook the pie first. Just load em in the rear trunk and they will be done when they reach their destination. Ha! Al Gore might even like this idea. :p

hi love bunny, we hav'nt met, ...have you any relations in NOTREDAME?!?!...lol

bmussatti 05-02-2008 07:36 PM

Here is a very old and pretty funny thread related to this topic:

Rail26 is a great guy. Wish he would come back to the Forum. He has done a few tours in the Middle East. A brave man and hero.

Hahaha, I just realized what you meant. That picture does actually look like a hunchback, doesn't it? It was kind of hard to get completely crouched down in there.

987gator 05-03-2008 04:16 AM

I finally understand why the neon green emergency release handle is in the frunk - people really can get stuck in there. LoveBunny - be careful.

[QUOTE=LoveBunny]I haven't been to the grocery store since this thread has started, but I fit in my front trunk pretty well.

LoveBunny 05-03-2008 11:51 AM

Who would actually close the trunk while they are in there though? And for that matter, who besides a person taking a silly person would get in there? I've got to say that most people probably wouldn't fit, at least not most adults. But maybe it could be a risk for kids playing in there or something.

I actually like to work, too. But the pressure of pulling evertyhing together wears me out a bit. Retirement planing especially. But if I met someone that wanted to help, I think I have to say that no matter what, I don't want to IRON. I despise ironing. :barf:
LoveBunny, I love the way you fit in your front boot. Isn't that cool?!

LoveBunny 05-03-2008 06:28 PM

I just took this picture today after going to Office Max. That case of paper fit so easily in there and my huge purse is even on top and some other incidental office supplies in a bag.

LoveBunny 05-04-2008 10:17 PM

I finally went to the grocery store and here is a picture. I have a case of water, case of Diet Coke, case of Diet Red Bull, bottle of wine, a bunch of frozen dinners and some other small things and a huge purse in the back trunk.

As I was loading it in there a guy walked up next to me and goes, "Wow, I didn't know those things had trunks." Then he offered to trade vehicles with me and let me have his Expedition so I could have more trunk space. Wasn't that generous of him? :D

I can fit a full golf bag in the rear trunk compartment.. I'll have to take a pic of it.. its a full staff bag too.. its like the trunk was designed for it....

rick3000 05-05-2008 06:32 AM

^ I think the trunk was designed for it. :D

Are you underneath your groceries, then?
Oops...re-read... this is the back trunk!
Not your m.o.
Couldn't resist, L.B. :D

Yep, that's the back trunk. That dang case of computer paper is still in the front trunk. I need to get my brother to get it out. It's so heavy that once it plopped down in there I can't get it out.

Porsche: the last car designed by engineers and not accountants...

or,

Porsche: not a car company, but a design firm, that makes a few automobiles...

Inspired by LoveBunny's shot of herself in the trunk. :)

Well, there's nutcase and then there's toothless crackhead stalker nutcase. As long as you are just a regular nutcase that's okay.

ISUnorth, I think he fits a little better in the trunk than I do and looks better too. He actually looks pretty happy to be in there.

That might be slightly less lethal than crack. :D

LoveBunny 05-08-2008 04:17 AM

btw, when did they stop putting a spare tire in Boxsters?

rick3000 05-08-2008 04:24 AM

All 986's have a full sized spare, the 987's in '05 discontinued the spare, and replaced it with tire repair kit. :D

PSL-Boxster 05-08-2008 05:42 AM

the front trunk is the BEST place to put an illegal mexican ... I can completly fit inside of it with the latch locked and closed -- even tho im 5,9' it still is a little squeeze

- anyone else have experience with this?
