Gearshift/transmission trouble

Hello,

160000 miles on my car and a problem has come up.
My gut says this is a minor problem I can fix real easy. But I will bounce it off of you guys to see what you think.

To described the problem in short it feels like something is in my shifter. When I change gears the car would slide in with no problem or force now i have to shove it, and use force. There is no grinding just force is needed now.

I have an aftermarket short shifter installed. Over 60k miles ago.

My 1st plan is to remove the boot this weekend and look and see if anything looks broken or loose. I hope thats what it is. What is your opinions??

The car drives fine, accelerates normal, no clutch slipping.

Growing up the car magazines said how amazing Porsches are. Was I brainwashed? Somehow...I doubt it.
