Hibernation is Over!!

I took the Boxster out of hibernation today. Really early, I don't think I pulled the trigger until early April last year. Just got sick of waiting with this lousy winter and the streets were dry today so I went for it. Ohh, how I missed that sound. Great drive, had to do some evasive maneuvers to avoid potholes, but all went well.

We will have several more snow storms so I'll just have to be selective on the days I take her out.

Mine is still covered up in the garage. Took it out once in January and twice in Feb. Spring is right around the corner but it's still going to seem like forever before it gets here. It always does. Anyway, glad you got yours out for a good drive. Watch out for those potholes!!

I try to take it out as much as I can. If the streets are clear then I am good to go. I don't have snow tires so I have to make sure the weather is going to be okay.

I get mine out of storage to play a couple of times a month when the roads are dry. The only part I don't like is that it takes forever to warm the tires up when it's 25* out.
I am glad someone is out for the season - there is hope!

Wink

These cars are fun to drive but $3.25 for a friggin gallon of gas hurts real bad. I feel a little guilty taking it out to drive with no purpose in mind. Of course we don't get the snow that some of you do. Also it's too cold to wash after getting the chemical and salt on it from the roads. Here they spray the road with salt/chemical if there is even a hint of snow. Wimps. Anyway good to hear you were able to do some driving.

Hey tboyer (if you recall): what roads are you guys on in the 4th and 5th pics? (I went to school in VA ages ago---the area looks familiar.)

We started at the Manassas Battlefield, up 234 (Sudley Rd) , Up Rt 15 James Madison Hwy, Lime Kiln Rd, Snickersville Turnpike (were the driving pics were taken) to Rt 7, down Airmont Rd back to Rt 66. A spirited drive with good scenery.

Smile Tboyer

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I wish my area had so many PCA members to get together with and hang out.

Been in the Manassas Battlefield area, but don't remember the road names/route numbers anymore.

So that's the "Snickersville Turnpike"? That's pretty funny calling a road like that a turnpike. Where's the extra lanes? The toll booths? The tourist trap rest stops? Aaah, I miss Virginia.

One of the benefits of living in the South - there is no hibernation period
