what is with people???

I've had my boxster since October, and I'm getting tired of people asking me if my car is a.....
- Corvette
- Miata
- Firebird

Those are the three I've gotten so far. I hate to be an ass when people ask me, but I'm an import enthusiast and wouldn't be caught dead driving a firebird.

"NO, IT'S A PORSCH-A" :troll:

Anyone have any similar experiences?

Apparently these folks can't read the work Porsche on the trunk?

Consider the source and just be glad you have a great ride!

Josh, you need to make some lemonade from those lemons, my friend!

That's part of the charm and fun with owning our cars...a lot of people don't know what they are. This is a good thing, in my book.

Just smile, and say, "No, it is a Porsche. Have a great day. Thanks".

Josh, I can bet ya the Firebird owner does not have people thinking he owns a Porsche!

PL, why are you eating in a diner? You own Apple stock! Plus you are a healthy eater.

Josh, one more bit of advice. If a hot chick ever says this "firebird stuff" to you, look at her, make good eye contact, and say with a straight face, "No, it is a Porsche. Would you like to go for a spin someday......topless!" And then see how she responds.

Too bad the trunk doesn't have a Porsche badge on it.

Most do have the Writing on it, you know, Boxster and all on the back trunk and the Porsche badge on the front.

How easy can this be?

I had a guy say, "Sweet Lotus". That isn't an insult though.

Never had someone ask if my car was anything along the lines of a Toyota Spyder or Firebird, but since I also run a naked rear I have been asked if my car is a 911 a few times.

I've had my Starion called a ton of different things:

Supra
Mustang
Daytona
RX-7

And even a 944 :P

Good to see I'm interested in another car people cant recognize! lol

Unless you removed the badge on your front trunk, your front trunk says PORSCHE!

I'd tell them it's a Hummer, the new convertible version.

But really, some people just have no clue about one car from another. I was with a friend and he went to get into a car he thought was mine. I have a black Lexus SUV. He was standing next to a silver Kia. Really, some people just think a car is a car so their opinion doesn't matter anyway.

Exclamation They know better, but oh so stupid

A remark like that is from someone who is envious. Obviously a lout who think he is being funny. Porsche is the most desirable marque in the world of cars so it is a known quantity. If someone asked me that I would answer " You must be mistaken I own a Porsche" then proceed to enlighten him why that person is a moron.
