Quick Brake Question

Hi guys,

My neighbor and I changed all the brake hardware (pads, shoes, fluid, etc) on his Ford Escort (Yeah, I know this is a Porsche Forum- but I knew you guys could help). Everything seemed fine and operated well. After a couple of days of driving, it now shimmies when brakes are applied. Did we get air in the lines during bleeding? What should I check for the shimmy problem? The front brakes are disc, and the rears are hydrolic drums.

Usually warped rotors, sometimes contamination on the rotors, sometimes loose tie rod ends.

+1 Warped rotors.

Normally when you put in new pads rotor should either be resurfaced or replaced. This way the brake pad and rotor surface is flat and have equal contact on all areas. One thing to try is to break in the pad to the rotor. This is done by hard braking about 10-15 times from 50-0 mph. Do this several times and the pad will wear into the rotor surface.
