??

1) The boxster came with lug BOLTS, not nuts. So, unless you converted your car to studs and nuts I am confused.

2) What do you mean they only "stick out about .80 of an inch"?

3) An SCCA type guideline I recall for wheel bolt/lug engagement is "13 turns" of the said nut/bolt. I have also head it said that you want engagement at least equal to the diameter of the bolt head/nut in question

So.. what was your question exactly? Don't be afraid to write out a nice description of your situation too

Racer, he means "Bolt" and he is saying that when he sticks the bolt through the rim, if he then turns the rim around to look at the inside... the Threads of the bolt only stick out 8/10 of an inch. He wants to makesure that isnt too short in length.

Now I think I get it... A pic would have helped an old timer like me I thought he was providing a measurement of the bolt with the wheel mounted on the car, not simply testing the bolt length through an un-mounted wheel..

Refer to part 2 of my original answer then

I think the only way you can find out is by getting your original BOLT and seeing how car it sticks out behind your ORIGINAL rim... that should answer your question

If it's sticking out, i.e. not engaged with threads, it makes no difference how long it is
