Hard Tops ?

I just got a 2000 Boxster 50k. I would like to have a hard top for the winter. I cant seem to find anyone that sales them. Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can order one from.

You can usually find used ones here in the classified section, or on e-bay. If you want to buy a new one and pay full price, you can always just order it through the dealership. E-bay is your best bet.

eBay will charge you a lot on shipping.
I would check Boxster forum classifieds, and craigslist. They sell for $3k new, I was lucky enough to find one for $900 in my color. Just hunt around, there are normally a few on craigslist, most people say they want $1500, but you can probably get one for $1200, because no one pays the $1500 asking price.

Be aware that
- when your Boxster(S) was not factory fitted with a hardtop you must install special "screws" called spinlocks to be able to fit a hardtop to your car
- there are different hardtops around. Naturally there are differences related to the exterior color but also to the interior color (grey/black) and styling (older hardtops have "ears" on the side, which personally I think s*ck)

The spinlocks are an easy install if you take your time, and do it properly. But count on an extra $65 for the 2 spinlocks, and 2 bolts, shipped from Sunset Imports.

Check a body shop as well. When I was having mne painted the owner of the shop said that he could order a new one for just over 2K painted in my color. eBay and craigs list is still generally cheaper but this is the time of year everyone is looking for one. Be sure and check all the large cities near you when using craigs list. I had to drive 5 hours to get mine.
