Dude the lense is one piece that you can take off if you put the headlight in the oven. I saw the auctions your talking about, the passenger side one is cool. The paint is chipped on the inner lense underneath where the grey paint is,the pin that helps to guide the headlight in is broken and the headlight washer section is broken. If you can get that one assembly in place you could make it worth your time.

yeah, worst case scenario, the balast and everything will go into the ones that i have on the car now, with the oven.
i wanted to paint that gray stuff inside the lenses black anyways, so if i open them up that will be painted.

Let me know if you need any parts from the headlight. I should be picking up some broken Litronics for dirt cheap that I was gonna mess around with later this week.

post some pics if you can.
if the inner lens is cracked, you could open up 2 sets and swap.
if the outer "lens" is cracked, you would need to replace that whole piece with another donor. if you're talking about painting the silver that is on the inside of the outer cliear plastic piece, you're going to have to strip it off somehow first (obviously) since painting black over that would not show.
i managed to bake some clear lights to replace burnt inner lenses. not too difficult. you'll need to scrape out all of the sealant and replace with new permatex. the sealant they used never gets soft enough to reuse.

as for the lens, its the outer lens thats cracked,.
and as for painting the inside of the lenses, that will be easy, I've done that as well.

Do you know how to replace just the lens?

I have one Litronic headlight from my old 01 Boxster which I kept for parts. I now have an 05 Boxster S and have no use for it. I do not remember which side (dirver or passenger) it is.

Let me know which side you need and I'll check when I come home this weekend.

BTW, I sent you a PM.

Be sure to post pictures when you are done, I want to see what this repair looks like and how much time it took to make $190 clears useable.
