Autoblog Boxster Review

a link to Autoblogs review of '07 Boxster;

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/22/in-the-autoblog-garage-2007-porsche-boxster/

Excerpt: "While the techno-opera of the engine reaching its crescendo is deeply satisfying, it's the car's dynamics that will ruin you forever and have you checking the "P" section in the "For Sale" listings every week. The steering, suspension, and brakes are nothing short of excellent, and the Boxster, with its superb balance and communicative nature, literally becomes an extension of yourself. "

That's a good article. I hate the ones that refer to the Boxster as "entry level"....As if there were more than one roadster choice within the Porsche brand.

"The power top is a snap to use -- unhook a single latch and hit a button -- plus it can be raised and lowered at speeds up to 40 mph or so."

Is it true the newer models don't require the parking brake to be engaged?

Yes, it's true, and it's also possible to perform a "hack" on the 986 to accomplish the same thing, though it doesn't strike me a a particularly useful feature. Indeed, it seems a bit dangerous, both from a driving standpoint, and in terms of damage to the top.

If it's up to 40 mph now, it reminds me of that book:
