To chrome or not to chrome?

Opinions please. Should I send my 18 inch wheels out to be chromed or not. I have the 1st gen turbo twist wheels on my black 2000 s. I could be pushed either way. Do chrome wheels really belong on a Porsche though?

Don't do it! Friends don't let friends go chrome... haha.. Chrome wheels, in my opinion, do not belong on a Porsche.

I second the NO CHROME. Chrome does not belong on a Porsche Sports car.

Chrome was soooo 90s

Bucking The Crowd

Do what you want to do. I get compliments on my wheels all the time. Not that there are tons of Porsches in Omaha, but I like to be different. If you like them, what difference does it make what others think?

It's your car, do as you wish. I don't think chrome is for performance sport cars.

it would be pretty cool if you chromed your wheels and got some chrome teeth as well. maybe with a porsche emblem embedded on one of the front two. That would bring hard core to another level.

you know what....chrome is nice, but not on a boxster.... im not saying that chrome looks bad on a boxster, because you could get a really really nice open rim in chrome with a deep dish and it will look nice no matter what. to chrome the stock rimz will just look cheap in my opinion.

You shouldn't even have to ask this question.

NO! NO! NO!...and NO!

There ought to be a law forbidding chrome wheels on Boxsters (or any Porsche for that matter).

no way in hell, paint them black and you will have a bad ass set of wheels.
same wheels in chrome will look like crap, and bring down the overall look and appeal of your car.

but then, at the end of the day, its your car, and you can enhance or make it worse any way you like.
