To chrome or not to chrome?

Opinions please. Should I send my 18 inch wheels out to be chromed or not. I have the 1st gen turbo twist wheels on my black 2000 s. I could be pushed either way. Do chrome wheels really belong on a Porsche though?

Don't do it! Friends don't let friends go chrome... haha.. Chrome wheels, in my opinion, do not belong on a Porsche.

I second the NO CHROME. Chrome does not belong on a Porsche Sports car.

Chrome was soooo 90s

blinkwatt 09-14-2007 11:51 PM

Don't send them out. I will sell you my chrome Turbo Twist for cheap. This way could have two sets of wheels, make one for winter if you want.

I am not a big fan of chrome on a Porsche.

blkboxster 09-15-2007 03:44 AM

NOOOOO, DONT DO IT :barf:

jwilson95 09-15-2007 03:47 AM

+1 for no chrome on any Pcar...

Do what you want to do. I get compliments on my wheels all the time. Not that there are tons of Porsches in Omaha, but I like to be different. If you like them, what difference does it make what others think?

wild1poet2 09-15-2007 07:51 AM

chrome em and then get a ghost flame paint job on the nose extending back over the quarter panels......

It's your car, do as you wish. I don't think chrome is for performance sport cars.

zackwatt 09-16-2007 08:57 AM

Noooooooooooo!

Sputter 09-16-2007 11:26 AM

No way but also i'm against de-ambering our cars. :barf:

edevlin 09-16-2007 11:51 AM

I personally would not like the wheels on my Boxster chromed, but, hey, if you like them that way, go for it,

Ed

it would be pretty cool if you chromed your wheels and got some chrome teeth as well. maybe with a porsche emblem embedded on one of the front two. That would bring hard core to another level.

986Roadster 09-16-2007 06:20 PM

you know what....chrome is nice, but not on a boxster.... im not saying that chrome looks bad on a boxster, because you could get a really really nice open rim in chrome with a deep dish and it will look nice no matter what. to chrome the stock rimz will just look cheap in my opinion.

J-RAD 09-16-2007 08:12 PM

You shouldn't even have to ask this question.

NO! NO! NO!...and NO!

There ought to be a law forbidding chrome wheels on Boxsters (or any Porsche for that matter).

kdub 09-16-2007 09:03 PM

NO CHROME.. Not on a Porsche

xxxalexxxx 09-16-2007 09:26 PM

I wouldnt put chrome on my boxster..so i'd vote for NO CHROME, i think it looks a little tacky

djomlas 09-17-2007 10:39 AM

no way in hell, paint them black and you will have a bad ass set of wheels.
same wheels in chrome will look like crap, and bring down the overall look and appeal of your car.

but then, at the end of the day, its your car, and you can enhance or make it worse any way you like.
