To chrome or not to chrome?

Opinions please. Should I send my 18 inch wheels out to be chromed or not. I have the 1st gen turbo twist wheels on my black 2000 s. I could be pushed either way. Do chrome wheels really belong on a Porsche though?

Don't do it! Friends don't let friends go chrome... haha.. Chrome wheels, in my opinion, do not belong on a Porsche.

I second the NO CHROME. Chrome does not belong on a Porsche Sports car.

Chrome was soooo 90s

I don't care if it belong to a boxster or not, I got a speedbike, and a lot of friend with speedbike had gone crazy with chrome, but for it to stay nice, specially on wheel, is hell! I got problem keepking my stock wheel clean, so imagine on chrome..

Chrome is nice for show room, on road it's not practical, Go chrome only if you can handle to clean it twice a day, dirthy chrome is worst that non-chrome

yeah, and if you don't clean your chrome wheels often, u can say bye bye to them as chrome will chip off and then it will look even worse.

I'm strongly in the "it's your car, do whatever the hell you want with it" camp. If all the negative nellies don't like it, well they can avert their eyes when you drive by...

Do not read the following, it's just my opinion, about which you should care naught. I would not put chrome on my Porsche, it's just the wrong aesthetic for me. I would commit heresy by swapping out Bosch parts on my motor for GM stuff or put brakes off a Viper on a Cayman or maybe even stuffing a Japanese engine in an old 911. To each their own.
