I'm strongly in the "it's your car, do whatever the hell you want with it" camp. If all the negative nellies don't like it, well they can avert their eyes when you drive by...

Do not read the following, it's just my opinion, about which you should care naught. I would not put chrome on my Porsche, it's just the wrong aesthetic for me. I would commit heresy by swapping out Bosch parts on my motor for GM stuff or put brakes off a Viper on a Cayman or maybe even stuffing a Japanese engine in an old 911. To each their own.

When it comes to chrome I think they are actually easier to clean. The surface of chrome is so smooth and slippery that not much will ever really stick to it. I've had chrome wheels before on my last car and found it extremely easy to clean them because dirt would just slide off. You could take a dry paper towel to them and clean them with nothing else. I used regular 409 surface cleaner and NO wheel cleaner, because in the past, all those wheel cleaner's out there are way to harsh for any cars clear coat. The clear coat can come off on any wheel type if it is to acidic. So I have to say chrome may get dirty or appear dirty faster than regular wheels, but I think they are much easier to wipe off.

Heres a pic of my previous box which had the chrome turbo twist wheels:

Theres a few more pics of them here http://www.pteam.net/boxster.html

Btw my lambo (pic in sig) below has chrome OEM wheels and it doesnt look out of place on a sports car or blinged out.

I already get enough looks like "you're just a pretentious SOB". With the chrome I'd feel they were right. Just my opionion but the initial posting did ask for feedback.

Please dont do it!! It makes the car look cheaper, well it just doesnt look good on any porsche. Chrome looks good on porsche in a very very rare ocation with some extraordinary setup of wheels, body kit and so on

I guess I look at it like calling attention to yourself excessively. In my opinion, chrome is just too much in this application. Now I have nothing against chrome when it is in the right place. A Porsche just does not need to cry out for attention with bling.
