New Boxster S

Hi All, I'm new to the group. I just purchased a 2007 Boxster S......all I can say is WOW!! Drives like a dream. Very nice. I had a 350Z but there is no comparision. So, just a question: I've been driving with the top down almost every day but when I drove with the top closed today, I noticed that I can really hear the transmission upon de acceleration. Is that normal? Thanks in advance. PS. I already joined the PCA.

Congrats!! Nope, not normal - engine is about to jettison! Any noise on decelerration is a BIG deal. Prepare for Porsche service hell! (Kidding, couldn't resist!) An '07 IS a big deal! Congratulations and post some pics!!

Tranny Noise

I think I know what you are referring too. Tranny sound is a bit more pronounced with the top up - I would not sweat it. Enjoy.

I thought the same thing when I purchased mine and it just takes getting used to having the engine behind you rather than in front.

Looking forward to the pics.

Sound like it if fine to me - congrats.

Your next post will be, "Why does the car smell like its burning in the garage after I drive it'. Typical new owner anxiety.

We need to see some pics too!

Congrats and welcome to the group.

Why are you worried about noise with a new 4 year warranty? I know any little noise/sound you hear you are trying to quantify. I'd be doing the same thing, unfortunately, mine is an '02.

oh yeah, post pics or at least the colors/options

Jeff
