my local porsche specialty shop (not dealer) said they would paint my rollbars for$200. Not sure if they planned to remove them for painting or not.

A quality paint shop will remove the roll bars, prepare the surface to accept paint, paint and clearcoat, buff and then re-install. Price will be about $1,000.
