LCD display in the instrument cluster not working
The Time Display part of the instrument cluster LCD is deciding to not illuminate but still works,I can see the time but not amber coloring like the others?????? I recently removed the cluster to clean up super glue residue. Any suggestions as to what it could be?
I'm open to anything and I just want to damn cluster to light up...............

Boggtown how did you redo the coloring to your LCD? I'm just going to replace/redo the LCD to see if that fixes it.

I believe Boggtown simply replaced the LEDs in just about everything in the cabin that had amber LEDs with blue LEDs.
I'd love to do that myself... I love blue illumination much more than amber. Maybe I'll get brave and try a couple of the switches before I put my cluster under the iron.

Hi,
My guess is that the electrical connector is not fully inserted. Remove it and try again...

I switched one of the Clock LCD backlight bulbs with the Digital Speed. backlight bulb and now both don't work. I'm not 100% I know how to seat the bulbs back in place correctly,isn't it as simple;
-seat the bulb
-turn 90 degrees and ensure a tight fitment
?

Are the instrument cluster bulbs something I can pick up at Target or Radioshack?

I recomend the practical approach. tear it down to the basics and re build it correctly. I had to go to radioshack to buy a super small torx bit for the circuit board so keep that in mind (i returned it as soon as i was done). I took it all apart, made sure it was connecting 100% (hard to do without taking it apart in my opinion, you get lucky or you dont) and put it back together. The LCDs just pop off the white plastic retainer which is held on by like 3 or 4 torx bits. Get to the bare circuit board and everything is instantly 100 times easier. Hope that helps. BTW buy blue LEDs from superbriteleds.com or something like that, 10 times cheaper than the porsche guys leds, just get like 3 small insturment panel LEDs and 2 bigger instrument panel LEDs.

I had the same issue. I went to the stealership and bought new bulbs. Problem fixed.

I'm officially starting the blue LED mod. It shouldn't cost much, and I can do all the work, so it won't take all that long.
Bogg, have any part numbers that are good for each component in the car?
All - I will try to photograph the process, and post a DIY.
