I've got the same one as, djomlas. So that one is just bolted on over the original?
Nice license plate!

Yes...that's what I've been trying to explain all along.

Look closely inside your tip, and you'll see the original oval tip hiding behind it.

You will not be able to convert that to a dual pipe look unless you change your whole exhaust out, unfortunately.

Yeah, but don't confuse the guy more! That is the 03 exhaust with the 03 dual tips put on your 01 car....not an 01 exhaust with bolt on 03 tips.

If you have a 1999 with a chrome tip held in place with set screws then this is it. I was an option that slid over the existing oval tip. That has nothing to do with the bolt on tips from 2003-2004, as there was a muffler change 2003-2004.

If you want 2 tips then you need to get another muffler. The number of tips is a cosmetic issue.

Thanks everyone, I got it figured out. I have the stock '99 exhaust with a welded tip and a chrome cover bolted over it. The '03 and newer boxster exhausts have tips that can be changed. And I cannot change to a dual exhaust unless I replace the whole exhaust system.
Correct?

Yes, you cannot change to dual tips on your exhaust unless you change the muffler.

Uhh... Im not so sure about that. As I said, I cut off the original tip and welded on a new one. If someone can show me a picture of a bolt on tip I can tell you if it can be cut and welded on to a 99 muffler. Like I said, I cut my new tip up to make it fit.

Ok...Correction- you cannot switch to a dual tip on your car unless you switch out your muffler... OR, if you are as resourceful as Boggtown, and know how to cut and weld metal.

Well the guy rick3000 never told us what year his car was. I was assuming he had an earlier model.

Not according to PORSCHE web site. Says date 8/02 and up. So if you have an 02 you would be okay.

But, don't forget, Porsche986spyder, soon after August 2002 Porsche started making the 2003 model year...I would guess.
