Yes, that's because there is no official 986, IT IS a 968 badge re-arranged. It comes as 968 no matter where you order it from. I got mine from bumperplugs but it did not cost $80.00!?! More like $26.00 plus shipping. Egle Day also sells then for a dollar more. Here is there web site.

it was $80 because bumperplugs charged me $60 to paint the 986 seal grey and the S in factory red.
I was looking for a custom metalic 'gun metal' color but he coudln't do it.

I think I will leave it off for now, and hopefully one of the Boxsters doing the Tail of the Dragon this weekend has the 986 badge so I can see what it looks like in person...
