				New Guy here.

Well it looks like you guys got a real nice corner of the web here.
I just got a Boxster, so I figured I would try and find some like-minded folks.

It's a terrific car and the first Porsche I've had that I can drive daily and the costs won't kill me.

I admit I'm a bit of a Luddite, with my other Porsche being a 356B and having previously owned a 930, and it took me a long time to warm up to the Boxster, but it is a fantastic car. I can say I'm gonna have it for a long time to come.

I got a '01 S with 20K miles on it. It's Guards Red with a black top and interior. It has all the options I would have gotten and none of the weight-adding, non-speed-enhancing foo-foo stuff.

I do have one question about the red. I thought it was Guards Red, but someone said it's too vibrant and bright for Guards Red, and they think it's Arena Red. All I know is it's a real loud color and can be spotted from miles away. Truly, "Arrest-Me Red".

Anyway, some pics. (I apologize ahead of time. The car hasn't been washed or vacuumed in a couple of days):

It looks like guards red to me. Arena red is more like burgundy. Nice ride! |

Nice 986. I like the wheels a lot. When you get a chance, post some pics of your tub also. I'm a huge 356 fan.

Thanks, I think they're the Cup wheels, not sure. I know I've seen 'em on 996s and such though.

I'll try and get pics of the 356 soon. It's a '62 Normal non-sunroof coupe, (so it's hardly desirable), with a Bali blue exterior and a red interior, but I love it and it's in GREAT original shape. Literally owned by a little old lady in California, it only has 54,000 miles on it and came with the original black plate.

It's currently waiting to be "freshened up" since I'm in the military and can't get home as much as I want to work on it. It needs about a weekend's worth of work on the engine and it will be rolling. Then I'm gonna go through her systems, (brakes, electrical, suspension), and freshen them up, then drive it while I spruce up the interior.

Maybe it's hardly desireable to some, but it would be very desireable to me. The blue/red combination is such a cool period look. I currently have two restoration projects actively going, and a line of others in waiting, but I've promised myself a 356 project at some point. I'd love to see the pictures of yours when you get time.

Ft. Worth, alright! A.k.a, west Dallas. Welcome. You'll have to join us other DFW folk the next time we
have a meet. I actually plan on arranging a get together and piggy backing of the Dallas M3 peoples next meet.

Honk if you ever see me around the way.
