Hi,

Closing it b4 the cycle is completed will stop the Top operation as this triggers the micro-switch, overiding the circuit...

Thanks. Closing the latch actually worked (the top still continued down into its retracted position), but I just want to know the intended position of the latch as the top retracts. Is it possible that my '98 Boxster does not have the micro switch override in the latch and that's why I was still able to put the top down with the latch closed?

I am glad to know, though, that the latch is intended to stay open -- makes for less hassle when opening the convertible top. I was wondering why the rear windscreen had that center dip in it. Now I know.
