HUm.. my thoughts on the TIP:

It has more wieght. Spinning fluid in a torque converter would end up weighing more. 6 oz of oil on a connecting rod at 8k RPM weighs something like 80lbs. I forget the exact math.. but fluid being spun in a reciprocating or rotating fashion adds weight.

Interesting. I'll measure the weight of a TIP torque converter.
