It's an old SAFC model I I got on ebay. It's definitely period-correct! I have spent a lot of time figuring out how to 'tune' this thing without breaking the bank. I talked to Softronic and he refused to work with me for some reason, then I found a post from a guy who used an SAFC to tune a 996 and had good results. So far so good on my end. A newer model II (or the Neo I think the latest one is called) would probably be better as they have more inputs (knock sensor, etc) and tuning options, but for my purposes just modifying the MAF signal is enough. Without the SAFC I was in the 17+ AFR range, and with it, as I said, I am bang on 14.5 while cruising and around 13 when on the throttle. I have access to a dyno so at some point I'll get it more finely tuned, but for now it's good. With the data logging I have setup I can verify it much better, although I'll still struggling to get the TPS number correct, but it's close.
