Did my driver seat today

Now that track season is over until next spring, it's time for me to remove my track seats and put my standard seats back in. The band on the bottom of my driver's seat hasn't broke, but the cushion is definitely a little saggy. I didn't have access to any trunk liner material, but my wife is a real estate agent and she recently got new signs, leaving me the old signs for various projects. They are some kind of heavy duty PVC plastic sheet, about 3/16" thick. So I cut a piece about 12"x8.5" and attached it with zip ties. The hardest part was threading the zip ties around the steel rod. I used a flat blade screwdriver to easily pierce the webbing on both sides of the band material, inserted the zip tie and then stuck a needle nose plier into the foam and under the steel bar to grab the end of the zip tie and pull it through. Once I was satisfied that the zip ties were tight enough, by sitting on the seat on the garage floor, I cut off the excess ends of them. Some time this week I will install the seats in the car and take a test drive. If I'm not happy with the results then I'll do something else when the seats come out next spring and the race seats go back in.
