If your sensible and blow out the excess oil before installing and are able to clean it regularly you should be OK. I ran two different style with out any issues for 20+K. In the end I'm back using a stock filter because replacing them is easier than cleaning the K&N every couple thousand miles.

Threads read about a 50/50 split of those how contribute a problem to running one and those how have had reasonable luck running one. The other thing you'll find is allot of negative comments from people who have never used one??
