Newbie first interduction and questions regarding a 2000 Boxer

First and foremost team, I just wanted to thank you all for your time and support upfront. I know that there is a huge wealth of information here and a lot of really caring individuals. From an outsiders prospective its extremely Appreciative

Anyway team!
Yes anther newbie here and like most newbies, I’ve spent my time in shadows trying to learn as much as possible from as many resources as possible over the last few months. I finally think I have a pretty good understanding on most of the shortcomings of the 986 and I have finally gained enough basic knowledge and understanding of this car to join the team.

Quick background on me:
Dad 48 yrs. young! – Two teen kids (boy and girl) and the same wife for 24 years. So yeah, I like abuse! Hahaaa

I’ve been a construction manager for 23 years, but I’ve been wrenching on cars my whole life, I’ve restored a few muscle cars and have a garage full of tools (but not specialty tools), so I’m hoping that I’ll be able to work on my Porsche myself. I’m not afraid of getting dirty and I like to learn new things.

Of course the “goal” is to find that gem in the rough. Well aaaaaahh, that is to sayyyyyyy, thaaaaaat aaaa I think I finally found something that has really caught my eye team! and I really wanted to hear what the team thinks.

I’ve driven several other 986 but I haven’t seen or driven this one yet! All information I have on the car is coming from the owner!.

It’s a 2000 boxer 986
120k miles
2004 headlights
dvd navi 7" stereo
$11,000

The engine was (last month) completely rebuilt from an independent Porsche specialist, not the dealer. All of the parts were ordered from the Porsche dealer and that the shop dyno the engine before installation. Yes this also included the installation of a new water pump & clutch kit. In total just over $9,500 was spent on the car within the last month. All with verifiable receipts and yes I’ll be calling the shop

The tires and breaks are at approx. 75%,the top works perfect and that everything works as expected.

I was also informed that the control arm rubbers are old and that they make a little noises on the bumps but it’s not necessary to replace them. ??????
He is the second ower and has no past history on the car, car fax report comes up clean (for what its worth)
