Before you go to all that bother, go to Lowers/Home Depot and buy a 4” OD CPVC pipe union (it has a small ridge half way down the inside where the CPVC pipes would butt), costs about $4.
Using your old flywheel bolts, finger tighten four in a cross pattern against the new seal (the bolt heads will rest on the ridge inside the pipe union), then using a socket (fingers only, no wrench), tighten the four bolts in a crosswise pattern until the installed depth is reached all the way around the circumference of the seal. Remove your $4 tool and admire your handy work……………
