Nonsense. The OEM stat is there
only for emissions reasons, it does absolutely
nothing to "extend the oil service interval"; and, in fact, many UOA's have shown that the oil stays in grade longer with the 160 F stat because the oil is simply not seeing the amount of excess heat the OEM stat exposes it to.
