This sounds like exactly like my symptoms. I didn't know that the shifter cable ran over the engine and will be sure to check this out. Thanks for the input. I also melted and balled up my ps2s trying to stay with the pace of a 996 4 and turbo. The turbo was in and out of his PSM and could blast into corners much faster after a straight. 993s were on me as well as soon as I made a mistake in a corner...anyway just learning ....will do a post about this soon
