Why was this feature disabled?

As was posted in the off topic section, photobucket has decided to extort a $400 annual fee from its users for 3rd party hosting, meaning that many pictures are now missing from this site. Most of my DIY threads are now ruined and I can't go back and edit them to either upload the missing pictures or link to another photo hosting site.

Any reason for this?

The DIY threads, and in fact all the user content, is what gives this forum its value. Maybe they can re-enable that feature? Please !!!!

The reason this feature is disabled after a certain amount of time is to not allow people to remove useful information from posts that may be helpful to others that come upon it in the future. For example: pricing information on vehicles. If users remove original information, such as the price it sold for, this will render it useless for people to research historical price information.

However, in light of the current circumstances, we're enabling the editing of posts for one week from today, if you need more time after that please let us know and we can get you access.

As far as hosting images, I would recommend using our image uploader as it will be the most reliable in case something like this happens again in the future.

Thanks Luccia!
I've been editing them, but I can't use the newer method of attaching pictures for some reason. The option doesn't even show up, so I've been using the older method. I hope that's ok.
