Yes, it is impossible. They don't seem to be parsed correctly (maybe quoting is disabled in the Admin?), and therefor do not get styled.

It would also be nice to put the advertisements in the footer, or at least after content, as they are very slow at loading and they must be loaded before the content. This makes the forums pretty slow.

Who is the admin of the forum? The default theme + settings definitely needs some love.
