First I cleaned the area with isoproponal alcohol

Pull some string across the boot lid. I used the pointy corners of the rear lights as a height guide.
Used masking tape to hold in position.

Measure and mark on the string the centre.

Take the S and position the top edge under the string, centred.

Then mark on the string 40mm either side of the left/right side of the S.

Place next letters.

Basically the gap between letters I used was 40mm.

It looks cleaner if you remove the 'Boxster' badge - but I am lazy and don't mind the look with it left on.

Was a very easy job, and took less than 10 minutes.
I followed your instructions and I really like the results.

It took me approximately 30 minutes start to finish because I was so nervous about balance and alignment that I measured multiple times.

I am debating whether or not to put the Boxster badge on again, but this is fine for now.

Note: The arc of the letters in the photos looks a little more pronounced than it is in actuality.

I did this a couple of weeks ago. I had an appointment scheduled at my indy for some service, and asked them if they would just do it while it was there (they specialize in nut-and-bolt restorations, so I felt more comfortable with them sticking on a couple badges than if I did it.) Ordered the PORSCHE and the Boxster S in the new 981 script. I LOVE the way it turned out!

I couldn't wait any longer, so I went ahead and purchased the 981 Boxster logo from Suncoast, which came in today!

For those unaware, the 981 Boxster logo is significantly smaller than the 986 Boxster logo. I just finished mounting it and couldn't wait to take a few photos, so here they are.

Comparing the size of the old 986 Boxster badge with the 981 badge.

By the way, I have a black 986 Boxster badge available if anyone wants it. It won't be too expensive.

Like the twin stripes decals might do it on mine. How wide & how long are they?

I re-installed my PORSCHE letters to turn the frown upside down, finally

The string needs to be loosened a bit, so it can sit on top of the centered "S", automatically creating the necessary curve to align the other letters alongside (--> looks "correct" from any angle now).

Finally managed to get mine done. Was toying with staying original but quite like the modern looking chrome. Not for everyone of course.

If I can do this anyone can I think.
