"Anyone know about fit and finish on their bumpers? Collision center is telling me that putting on anything aftermarket, no matter how reputable the company is, will involve a lot of work to make bumper look right. Lots of paint, bondo to smooth, and grunt work to make it fit properly. Any advice on this?"

Just some perspective on this. I run a large collision facility and can tell you this is mostly true. Some aftermarket bumpers do not fit well out of the box at all. Some actually do need 5 to 8 hours of labor to fit and finish properly over and above the standard OEM replacement charge. My advice is to bring the new bumper to the shop to have someone take a look at it. They can judge the quality and come up with a more accurate estimate from there. If it is a good quality aftermarket bumper, then they are more likely to charge you less for the install. Likewise if it is not quality, I would expect to pay more and may consider not using it at all!
