Hey how long did it take you to get down there? What is the best route to avoid trucks and rocks?

Is it worth it?

Prepare 2 days of driving each way, 18-wheelers were everywhere on I-75 so there was no way to avoid them.

Totally worth it if you ask me, made me realize why I bought the car and one more thing checked off on my bucket list.

Hmmmm so a completely different experience from just track driving I take it. I am always temped to go as there are so few good roads in the southern Ontario region

How the heck did you keep the bugs off your car man???

Reference the first picture, there should have been a LOT more room between you and the Toyota and Nissan that were following you...

Of course, just kidding with you Ekam. Awesome that you got to hit the Dragon! And, some very nice pictures.

As I was coming back from Pensacola a few hours ago, talked to a guy at a gas station that had just come from the Dragon for a Mini meet. He said it was their 10th year meeting up at the Dragon for their annual Mini get together. 10 years ago they started with 60-something cars. This year they had over 700! Pretty impressive, even if it wasn't a Porsche gathering.

Ekam, I'm jealous... that must have been an incredible experience.

Maybe next year; I'm all planned up this summer.

Two weeks at the cottage (Boxster included), and a weekend roadtrip to Pennsylvania to catch a Nascar race. I'm running all 2-lane roads on the way to the Poconos. Should be a hoot.

Did anyone else see the Top Gear "Tail of the Dragon" episode, where they all show up in supercars, and then follow the posted speed limit of 35 mph?

Which season/epsiode is this? Are you speaking of Top Gear USA?

This is my next destination but my car won't be with me...

no, it was actually the good Top Gear, I just saw it a week or so ago on BBC America. I think it was the Season 16 premier... But I could be wrong.

I found it... that's the East Coast Special after... well... they came back from Romania...

That's the Blue Ridge Parkway, not the Tail of the Dragon, although they're essentially connected.

Been there done that, what a great drive, hopefully you made the run more than once. I only drove it one direction and I really wish I had made several passes. I do however have those exact same pictures.

For the rest of you, if you ever have the chance I highly recommend The Dragon. Check, one more off the list.

And I just got back from driving Pikes Peak...wow now that was a rush!. Check another one off the list

dragon.

since we live pretty close, we do the dragon pretty regularly, but for the more spirited drivers out there I have some roads that make the dragon look like an interstate.
