Norway Holiday

Just got back from a fantastic holiday in Norway with my wife, my Boxster, and some of our friends.

I've never been to Norway before, but I loved it, and recommend anyone who gets the chance to go.

I've got loads of photos, but most are still at home. I'll post the best ones tomorrow, but in the meantime, here are a couple of snaps I took around the fjords.

The ferry took forever! It's 24 hours each way...there is enough on board to keep you occupied for about 5 hours, and then it's just a case of watching the TV, reading books, playing cards and worrying about the Porsche down on the car deck!!

As for the fish - I tend to steer clear of seafood where possible, especially the particularly smelly stuff! It was very strange to see whale meat for sale in the fish markets.

In all the time I was in Norway, I only saw 1 other Porsche, a 993 (we gave each other a friendly wave as we passed). The amount of interest the Boxster got was amazing, it turned every single head, and always had a crowd around it looking and asking questions wherever I parked it. People were even taking movies of it on their camcorders when it was in a parking space!!!

This is in front of the Nigardsbreen flow of the Jostedasbreen glacier in Norway. It's a tiny part of the biggest glacier in Europe. The photo doesn't give a good impression of the size, but the front face of the flow in the background it over 200 feet high - that small cave towards the right was the size of a 3-storey house!!
