Well, the worst thing we did at my work was paint...

Well, the worst thing we did at my work was paint the sealed floor. The paint constantly gets chipped and damaged, leaving patches of bare concrete.

I agree. I've decided against doing DE/PDX in a car without a cage after the fatality at Summit Point. I know it's unlikely, but driving anywhere near the limit can have serious consequences.

Have you ever sealed the top fabric? I've had it happen once or twice when it's been wet and humid for several days. 'vert tops aren't impermeable like a steel top, they do "breathe" a bit.

I'll be buying an amp for my '06 shortly, the factory one crapped out. I'm not sure about the 986, but my amp only drives the door speakers, and you can connect the an aftermarket amp to the factory...

Yup, I've done this many times with my Toyota 4x4, and still have the factory CV's at 190,000 miles. Just be sure to thoroughly clean out all of the old grease first.
