Thanks Grant, that's what I thought. I'm not a fan of the heritage gauge, I am seeing a lot of the black face gauges on ebay though, so that's probably where I'll get mine, once I'm ready.

Mine did the same when I was trying to take it out, and I've repaired it the same way. I see now that I need to undo it an put the firewall cover on first, hopefully it doesn't break again farther...

Probably not, as the 97 2.5 is throttle cable actuated and 2000+ are drive by wire/electrically actuated. For the 01S look at getting a 98+ 996 electric throttle body (part 99760511501).
