Scammmer?

When looking to buy a part here, how can you tell you’re being approached by a scammer?

They will often reach out to you via private message (or vice versa) or post in the thread asking you to send them an email, then bait you into sending them payment through various means. You really have to be careful and do reverse searches of images they share with you because they may pop up via Google Images from other forums such asn Rennlist etc.

Sometimes even legitimate users here, who may not have logged in for a while, get their accounts hacked, and the scammer uses the member's reputation to act as a legit, trustworthy seller. These are some of the pitfalls of forums these days, unfortunately. As always: Trust, but verify. And if it's too good to be true, it probably is worth walking away.

Also they usually only have 1 or 2 posts, and have been created very recently. The post is also usually about a PIWIS system, or ladders.

A lot guys from Nigeria or other countries trying scam you. Normally they will ask you for email to continue conversation over there.

If you give them email they will try get into your PayPal.

If they are not local ask for the call with video to check if they really have what you are looking for. If they will start saying something about not having time etc it's 80% scammer.

Payment always PayPal good and service.

It's not really bad over here , worst are Facebook groups.

I've had that. I don't understand how that's supposed to entice me more.
