2000 Boxster Throttle Body

Hello,

I am about to clean the throttle body for my 2000 Boxster and was doing some research and it appears that there are different sizes that can be purchased for the 2000 Boxster.

A couple of questions:

What type of benefit (performance) does increasing the MM size of the throttle body and is it a plug and play or are there other modifications that are required to maximize the performance?

Any larger TB will require a larger mount tube, and a larger intake tube, which leads to 'why not increase the whole intake box', and then 'well, why not the exhaust headers', and then 'why not the muffler'....it's a slippery slope, and after doing all of that, you are basically wasting your time if you don't get it tuned properly. Simply bolting on a larger TB isn't going to do anything for you by itself.

Thanks, I just removed the TB and cleaned it well; what a difference. The idle is smoother and consistent. I'll be replacing the paper motor filter and then cleaning the MAF sensor this week.

It does sound slippery. I work on the car for my wife, she uses it to go to and from work.
