Clutch Slip, Compression Loss, or Just Too Steep?
I rolled the Box' up a slightly inclined driveway in 2nd gear and killed the engine. Living on flat LI I didn't bother to tug on the e-brake figuring the car was fine. I went inside and came back out...

Post Break-in Uncertainties: Performing Optimally?
I just passed the 2K mile break-in period the other day and stomped on it to visit the redline for the first time. Yowza, there's a whole different car lurking on the other side of 4K RPM. I had to...

The Forum has probably been there and done this several times before, but for other newbies like myself I thought it might be of interest to hear peoples comments on which of the costly Porsche...

`07 Manual Page on Break-in Period
The manual has a single page entitled "Break in hints for the first 2000 miles" (p. 19). It's too tedious to reproduce it all here. Quoting some of the key points as follows:
"This wearing-in...

Brake Pad Dust Storm (Newbie)?
I've clocked about 1700 miles on my new Box and from day one it's been spewing brake pad dust all over my spiffy S-wheels and the sides of the vehicle as well.
Does this every abate or is this...

Break-in Period Confusion
Last month I picked up an `07 Boxster. I'd driven it at one dealer and had it transfered to another dealer for the actual purchase. Being a Porsche virgin I'd been reading these forums to come up to...

EPA Gas Mileage Estimates?
The window sticker on my `07 gives the EPA Estimated MPG as 23 (city) & 32 (Hwy). I was curious to see if these number had any relevance and at what speed. The City rating is somewhat ambiguous but...
