I noticed that a second or so after starting the engine I hear a click under the dash as the radio goes off. Any idea what relay that would be. I'll try to feel which one it is tomorrow.

My CDR220 works fine and plays CDs weather the key is on or off but once the car is started there is no power to the unit. Is there some programing that needs to be done or wiring to repair/bypass?...
